It's the kind of TV you as a gamer can have if money isn't an object. The bottom line being that this is an investment and a very long term one at that. I have to say that the QN900A will be a display I want to have but can't, simply because of how much it costs at this time. Ideally a soundbar that has Samsung's Q symphony that works in conjunction with all of its speakers to give you richer sound. While Samsung's back firing speakers sound good, if you're already sinking a sizeable investment on picture, it makes sense to do it for sound and as such there are always bundle deals for soundbars packaged in Samsung stores to give you the best picture and audio experience you can get. It does allow to play with how the upscaling works if people aren't too happy with the way the engine works.Īnd finally sound, it's a given that if you're buying a TV like this, you're already investing or are thinking of investing in a soundbar. This isn't a commentary on not watching films in the cinema but with the ongoing pandemic, this solution works and with its AI, you'd forget that you're watching 4K content sometimes. Watching Netflix content especially animated shows was just an experience that if you've ever built the right setup in a cinema format, especially with that 85 inch display, I don't see why you'd need to go to a cinema if you can stream it right on your TV. The experience overall gets you gorgeous colours, HDR like you've never seen before and unbelievable contrast that makes you wonder how does a QLED bring its image quality so close to an OLED panel. It's also got HDR10+ formats as a way to serve an alternative for a lack of Dolby Vision support. PC gamers especially will be happy to know that both AMD FreeSync Pro and Nvidia's G-Sync is also baked in. Gamers looking to invest in a display for the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be glad to know that 4K 120 hz gaming is a breeze. Samsung's QN900A and its string of TV models are very gaming focused. Samsung's Neo Quantum 8K processor upscales 4K and HD content quite nicely and that's from the work the processor has done through AI that used models of different images on its network. 8K content is expected to be more commonplace within the next few years or so. Now, there's not a lot of use cases for 8K content but this is why I say you're future proofing. This is also a natively 8K resolution panel that adds a lot of pixels. While it still doesn't go toe to toe with OLED displays, Samsung's QN900A can achieve way more brightness. Mini LED in essence sees the LEDs shrink down so you can pack way more in a display which allows for improved light control, effectively removes blooming and allows for more bright rich displays. Hang it on the wall and this thin display really blends in. Also if you're mounting it on the stand, the box fits nice and snug at the back. there's three USB connections and of course Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The One Connect can take four HMDI connections all of which are 2.1 and support 4K 120 for gaming. Well, the One Connect Box at the back houses all connections which need a single point of contact keeping your setup minimal and clean. Now you'd think with a TV this thin, the connection points would be a problem. At the back, there are eight rear mid-range/bass speakers and they have quite a bit of quick in it largely with the screen being so thin thanks to Samsung's Mini LED technology. Once that display turns on, you barely notice this industrial design and it's really thin overall. Samsung say this sort of design helps with the sound travel. On the design front, the QN900A looks like it has its speakers on its edges, it's cutting edge and it bleeds style. It's barrier to entry is understandably expensive but with all things technology expect to see these prices come down a bit for the next few years as buying one of these TVs effectively future proofs you for the next 5 years and we haven't even started broadcasting in 8K so it's a heavy but long term investment to be sure.
